Produced by Premier Films that produced ‘Trials of Passion’, ‘My Successor’ is a 52-episode serial hinged on the controversy that surrounds succession in the Cameroonian context.
The production, according to the Director of Premier Films, Godwin Nganah, is aimed at paying tribute to late Victor Pungong, who was the brain behind the film production house. The first 26 episodes of the serial, which is expected to be delivered to CRTV by March 1, for broadcast to start, has a wide cast made up of a cream of English speaking Cameroonian actors and actresses, many who acted in Trials of Passion.
The serial already described by actors and cinema lovers as the biggest tele-film project Cameroon has ever had, is directed by Asaba Ferdinand alias Penda who has to his credit films like ‘Mark of the Absolute’ and ‘China Wahala’. For cinema lovers, house hold names such as Abia Maureen, Chinepoh Cosson, Grace Nyoya, Ernestine Tita and Emmanuel Yimbu would feature in the serial.
CRTV Extends Largesse To Film Producers
Meanwhile, in another development, CRTV has opened its doors to Cameroonian film producers. After a meeting recently with Collywood actors, CRTV General Manager promised to collaborate with film producers. He said CRTV would accept productions and select the best to be projected. Also, scripts would be accepted and the best would be produced. FENAC provided an opening for the present collaboration between Collywood and CRTV.
