Former Bui MP Laid To Rest

The remains of Hon Michael Mah Tansah, former Bui MP, were buried at his Bajing residence in Tobin, Kumbo, in Bui Division, Saturday, April 9.

Late Hon. Mah died at 58, on April 3, after a brief illness in the Shisong Catholic Hospital. His remains were interred after a funeral mass conducted in the Catholic Church Tobin, in front of a record crowd, including his parents, Pa Alexander Mah Tansah and Mama Regina Bongven.  The funeral mass was said by four priests, with Rev. Father Augustine Foka as Chief Celebrant.

Speaking at the occasion, Father Foka implored Christians to pray to God to be merciful in judging the deceased and to grant him eternal rest in Heaven. He also prayed for the spirit of love and unity to reign amongst the family of late Hon. Mah Michael left behind. On behalf of the Educational family, Northwest Secondary Education Delegate, George Sunjoh, said the death of Hon. Mah was a great loss to them. Sunjoh said a great friend and a hero had fallen.

According to the biography of Hon. Mah, presented by Mrs. Margaret Tansah, the deceased was born on October 7, 1953. After his educational career, Mah served as a class room teacher, Divisional Inspector of Education, Divisional Delegate of National Education, CPDM Section President for Bui and also Member of Parliament. He was married to late Vivian Mah Kehla with whom he had five children.

Mrs. Margaret Tansah said the death of Hon. Mah Tansah has created a vacuum in the family, which will be hard to fill. He leaves behind seven children, two grand children, his parents, brothers and sisters to mourn him.
