Maiden Academic, Career Counselling Held In Yaounde

By Leocadia Bongben

CameroonPostline.com — The Ministry of Higher Education held the maiden edition of the academic and career counselling for new entrants into the university last week-end. Coinciding with start of the 2013/2014 academic year, the academic and career counselling helped students to get acquainted with the foreign, general and specialised training in Cameroon universities.

It was an opportunity for youths and students from both public and private universities to interact with the professional and employment world. The various stands at the Warda Sports Complex – venue of the forum – provided an avenue the universities, trainings institutions and organisations to present their know-how to students.

Besides directing the students to make better career choices, the stands were also an avenue for dialogue and discussions on matching training with employment. On the occasion, the Minister of Higher Education, Jacques Fame Ndongo, urged the students to seize the opportunity to make a good and appropriate choice in a faculty or professional school. He said this first students’ forum strives at providing solutions to problems of status and career development.
