Nico Halle Elected CMF National President

Douala-based international legal consultant, Ntumfor Barrister Nico Halle, was recently elected the National President of the Christian Men Fellowship, CMF, of the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon, PCC.

According to a communiqué signed by the CMF National Publicity and Social Secretary, Stanley Fuh, the elections took place during a National Committee meeting, NATCOM, of the CMF Movement, which held at the Church Centre in Kumba, from August 29-30. Ntumfor Halle beat four other contenders for the post by a wide margin, in the elections which were described as transparent.

The elections, which were conducted by a team led by the National Secretary for Men`s Work, Lay Training and Evangelism, Rev Joe Set Aji-Mvo, also saw the elections of four other CMF members into the National Executive Committee, NEC, of the Movement. The National Secretary of the Committee, Rev, Dr Isaac Sakwe Elangwe, declared the results.

 According to the results, the new NEC of the CMF Movement stands as follows: National President-Barrister Nico Halle; First Vice National President- Emmanuel Njie, Second Vice National President – William Mbenkum, Financial Secretary-Andrew Ngoumba and Publicity/Social Secretary – Stanley Fuh.

The newly elected NEC members were dedicated during a service at Presbyterian Church Mbonge Road, Kumba, on Sunday August 30. The ceremony was presided at by Rev Aji-Mvo in the presence of the National Secretary for Women`s Works, Mrs Beatrice Ngeh, the CMF Regional and Presbytery Presidents and the members of the outgoing NEC which had as National President, Victor Antumka. The Post learnt that the Moderator of the PCC, Rt. Rev Dr Nyansako-ni-Nku and many other senior ministers of the church, have called to congratulate the new National President of CMF on his election.

The National President is elected for a five-year mandate, renewable only once. The out gone National President, Victor Antumka, held the post for 10 years. A few weeks ago, the East Mungo Region of the CMF, held its elections in Yaounde and Ntumfor Nico Halle was elected the Regional President. The East Mungo Region covers the eight Francophone Regions of the country, and is comprised of two Presbyteries, East Mungo South and East Mungo North.

It would be recalled that, a few months ago, Ntumfor Halle stepped down from the post of President of the East Mungo South Presbytery of the CMF (Littoral and West Regions), after coming to the end of his mandate. The PCC has 23 Presbyteries in the country, with 21 of them being in the two Anglophone Regions; the Northwest and the Southwest Regions.
