Bangbullets of Nkambe: Striving to rub shoulders with the big boys

PWD of Bamenda and Bangbullets of Nkambe have qualified for the 2015 Northwest Mini Interpools final after the pair edged tough semifinal wins over Dzekwa Ranger FC of Jakiri and Tatecam of Bamenda respectively on November 9.

The pair will Sunday, November 15, 2015 fight for the lone ticket to represent the region at the National Interpools.

In the first encounter on Sunday, November 9 that pitted PWD Bamenda aka Abakwa Boys against Dzekwa Rangers of Jakiri at the Bamenda Municipal Stadium, Benjamin Serge was the hero for the Abakwa Boys, scoring in the 8th and 90th minute to see off a resilient Dzekwa Rangers. Dzekwa Rangers hit the opponent’s net once, but that was not enough as the match ended 2-1 in favour of the home side.

Meanwhile, Bangbullets of Nkambe edged Tatecam FC of Bamenda after post-match penalties, 7-6. After failing to break the deadlock in the 90 minutes of the game, both sides continued their lack of goal instincts in the 30 minutes of extra play time, forcing them to the nerve-wracking penalty shootouts that decided the winner.

Bangbullets of Nkambe will be hoping to make history by representing the region for the first time when they confront a PWD Bamenda side that is in quest of redemption.
