Success Lies In God, Determination

CameroonPostline.com — The Minister of the Environment, Protection of Nature and Sustainable Development, MINEPDED, Pierre Hele, has stated that the secret to success in life is determination, loyalty and placing God at the centre of everything.

Pierre Hele was speaking, January 8, while commissioning the Director of Studies, Projects and Cooperation in MINEPDED, Moussa Seibou. The event took place at MINEPDED’s conference room of the Centre for Information and Environmental Documentation, CIDE.
Minister Hele told the new Director that his service occupies an important place in the accomplishment of the missions assigned to MINEPDED, considering that many strategic projects fall within the framework of that service.

Hele mentioned some key files awaiting Moussa, which include the putting in place of the strategic plan of the Ministry validated a couple of months ago; elaboration of accords and conventions and ensuring their execution as well as follow-up and evaluation of priority actions of MINEPDED in the national strategic document.

The coordination of aid and cooperation oriented projects; centralisation of statistics on support programmes and projects in matters of the environment; identification and elaboration of investment programmes and projects and follow-up of international cooperation on issues of the environment were some of the attributes the Minister said falls within the task awaiting Moussa. Before his appointment by Prime Ministerial Order No 2013/9675/PM of 24 December 2013 to replace Jacques Bilong now on retirement, Moussa was Head of Cooperation Unit in that Ministry.

According to Minister Hele, Moussa, 47, demonstrated professionalism and efficacy while he was head of the Corporation Unit. Meanwhile, while thanking Bilong for his loyal services to the State through MINEPDED, Pierre Hele said working and successfully going on retirement is the dream of every State functionary.

He noted that it is a moment of rest and tranquility far away from the exigencies of work deadlines in the office. He said Bilong, who is known for his intelligence and dynamism, must have well prepared for his retirement. Bilong was showered with gifts in appreciation.

Director’s Biodata

Seibou was born in Bipaing Lara, Far North Region in 1967. He holds a diploma as a teacher and a First Degree in Mathematics.

Moussa taught in Lycée Bilingue de Mbalmayo and in 2001, Moussa was appointed Head of Partnership Service in the Ministry of Tourism. A year later, he became the Director of Camping School in the Waza National Park, a position he occupied until his appointment as Head of Studies, Projects and Cooperation Unit in the then Ministry of Environment and Protection of Nature, MINEP.

He was also the Focal Point Coordinator of the environmental component of NEPAD and that of Sustainable Coastal Tourism Project between November 2009 and June 2012, amongst others. He furthered his studies as well as attended refresher courses that took him to China, Morocco, Senegal, and Guinea-Conakry.
